MRI Research Paper Topics

MRI Research Paper TopicsWhen you want to prepare for your MRI research paper, you can use a wide variety of topics and questions. You may choose to cover two specific areas, or the entire body of the research. Depending on the research topic and the subject matter, there are lots of possible topics to choose from. Here is an overview of some of the common ones.* Topic selection is really important in this area. The other problem with research topics is that they will often cover the same ground every time. So if you make a quick topic choice you may only need to write one or two papers out of them, but if you select a long topic, you may need to write more than one paper for each topic. This is why it is so important to determine what topic you want to tackle first, and then think about what you would want to do with it in terms of topics.* You should always be sure that you have thought about the objectives of your MRI research paper before you begin. You will want to remember that the goals and objectives will be the backbone of your paper, which you will use to create a cohesive document. This is why it is so important to discuss these matters at the beginning. If you do not plan on including this in your paper, you will need to ask other people for help.* You will want to include some general statements, and you will also want to give examples of what they are supposed to mean. For example, in the opinion section, you will need to demonstrate that the words you are using have some sort of universal meaning. If you were a person, what would you be using? You should also take the time to demonstrate that your example truly applies to the study and sample that you chose.* A second general statement may be about the results of the results. If you have a situation that has been studied in other medical journals, you may want to talk about it. However, you should avoid citing past studies, since that could indicate bias. Also, the way that your results have been presented is another aspect to look at. You will want to be sure that you are using a sound statistical methodology.* Finally, a third general statement that is just as important as the first two, should be about how your findings compare to those that have been found elsewhere. That means that you need to provide statistics to back up your statements, which you can include in your paper. For example, you might write an article describing how your research suggests that in some situations, performing an MRI may not necessarily improve the outcome.* Another important topic to consider in the MRI research paper topics is the other factors that influence the outcomes. For example, should there be any special considerations for small children? These are all questions to consider in your analysis. When you are preparing for your MRI research paper topics, you will need to consider how you will use them. Are you going to use them as research questions, as a summary of the study, or as dis cussion points in your writing? Each person will have different purposes, so you will want to consider these in the ways you go about writing your paper.

Freewrite Your Way to a Great College Application Essay

Freewrite Your Way to a Great College Application Essay First, write the question you are going to address at the top of a new document.   Next, freewrite an answer to it for 10 to 15 minutes. Set an oven timer to keep yourself from looking up at the clock. Keep your fingers on the keyboard or the pen to the page and just keep slamming out the words, any words that come to you on the topic. You dont have to read the screen or scan what you have already written on the page. Keep new words coming. When the alarm rings, shake out your hands and re-read what you wrote.   Underline or highlight the words that surprise you, the ones that feel as if they might lead you to saying more.   If you can, read this freewrite to someone or ones you trust and let them tell you two things:   the words and phrases that they remember from your reading and what theyd like to know more about.   You can also have others read to themselves, but we always learn a lot about how our words perform on the page when we listen to ourselves read aloud to others. Do a second freewrite with their responses in mind. Read the second freewrite to your trusted listeners and ask for the same responses. This time, though, also be sure to ask if any of the images, sentences, or thoughts youve written confuse, distract, disappoint or bore. These are the places where you most probably stray from your subject or get shy about putting it fully on the page. You might be sticking to details that are safe rather than exploring the occasion. You might be summarizing and using intangible words rather than words that describe by appealing to the five senses. Caution: Let your responders know that their responses must be in the form of I statements:   I am bored in the part about XYZ because the images dont seem fresh to me; I am confused when you mention going to Alaska because I thought you were talking about being in Cincinnati; I am distracted by wondering why you post a rhetorical question in the middle of the writing because I think you must know the answer if I do. Take notes as they speak and dont explain what youve written.   When you hear their response to the writing itself without any explanations by you, you will receive a useful jumpstart for knowing what you need to do to keep the reader with you. This is a brief study of what poverty is and how it has changed through time. Examining the differing political viewpoints and social theories as to why poverty exists and why eradicating it has proved difficult. Poverty was originally viewed the fault of the person, not their situation. The Poor Law act 1601 classified the poor as: impotent, able bodied or persistent idlers. Following industrialisation and decreasing agricultural jobs, workers moved to factories, earning less and in appalling conditions. The Poor Law act amendment 1834 made workhouse conditions deliberately severe to†¦show more content†¦After WW1 and the great depression, less money entered the economy than went out. Biological Sciences Genetics of Addiction

Question: How do genetics factors increase the risk of alcohol abuse and dependence? Answer: The Genetics of Addiction Numerous studies have confirmed the genetic predisposition of addiction where genetic factors responsible for 50-60% of the addiction. According to the study of Verhulst et al. (2015) conducted with identical twins, there is a high probability of alcohol addiction in one twin when the other twin is addicted. These studies also showed that in a case of identical twin one partner has alcohol use disorder whereas the other partner has drug use disorder. However, similar experiments conducted with the non-identical twins revealed that addiction in identical twin did not affect the non-identical twin. This is due to sharing of 100% genes in identical twins as compared to 50% genes similarity in non-identical twins. Because genes are an inherited component, they run in families. Several researchers have performed a comparative study of DNA sequences of addicted family members with those who are not to identify the pieces of shared DNA between the addicted and the non-addicted individuals ( Zhang et al. 2016). Dager et al. (2015) explained that the people with alcohol dependency commonly have A1 allele of the dopamine receptor geneDRD2. Further, he highlighted that studies with experimental mice models revealed that any defect or mutation in Per2gene led the mice to consume three times more alcohol when compared to mice counterparts with a functional gene. On the other hand, it was found from the paper of Wetherill et al. (2014) that an individual with the two copies of theALDH*2gene variations is rarely found to have alcohol dependency. Alcohol dehydrogenase is the enzyme responsible for converting alcohol into acetaldehyde further aldehyde dehydrogenase (ALDH) converts acetate and water. The genes encoding these enzymes exhibit polymorphism. People carrying alleles for these enzymes rapidly convert ethanol to acetaldehyde. These genes are active proteins and ADH gene cluster present in chromosome 4 shows linkage with identified phenotypes. The genetic variants of the ADH1A, ADH1B, ADH1C, ADH5, ADH6, and ADH7 genes are responsible for illicit drug dependence. Genes encoding GABA-A Receptor gene found the significant association of the gene with the single nucleotide polymorphism and alcohol dependence (Hart et al. 2015). Gene CHRM2 involved in the cholinergic system (transmission of acetylcholine and excitatory effects) was also found to induce alcohol dependency and is associated with electrophysiological endophenotypes. The gene OPRM1 encoding opioid receptor exhibits polymorphism and is responsible for alcohol and drug dependence. This receptor functions in effects similar to opiates. Further, CNR1 gene, which generates rewarding effects of cannabis use have been found to be associated with alcohol use disorders. According to the Clarke et al. (2012), electrophysiological studies determined the genetic vulnerability of addiction disorders indicated that the P3 component of the brain responsible for the spike, when exposed to the sudden stimul us, is reduced in alcohol use disorder people as well as in their children. Thus P3 component can be called as the genetic marker to alcohol dependence and drug abuse. Hence, it can be concluded that genetic factors are responsible for alcohol abuse and dependence as well as drug dependence. Life as Arnold Schwarzenegger Essays - Arnold Schwarzenegger

ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER Arnold Schwarzenegger was born on July 30,1947, in Thal, Austria. His parents were Aurelia and Gustav Schwarzenegger, and his older brother was Meinhard, who was liked better than Arnold by his father. Arnold's family believes he inherited his physique from Karl Schwarzenegger, Arnold's grandfather. Arnold's father was the head of the German military police during the war years in Belgium. Gustav was legendary for his strict discipline toward Arnold and Meinhard. For example, he would make Arnold eat every meal with books pressed tightly under his arms to teach him to keep his elbows to his side while he ate. His father would make Arnold and Meinhard compete to see who the best was in boxing matches, races, and studying. His father humiliated the loser with scornful remarks. Each Sunday Arnold and Meinhard were permitted to choose among hiking, visiting a farm, seeing a play, museum, or art show. After their Sunday excursion, their father required them to write a ten page essay describing their day, which he graded Monday morning, and mistakes were not tolerated. Arnold could never win his father's praise, and at the age of thirteen he began dreaming of becoming bigger and stronger than his father. Arnold would sneak into movie theaters to watch Hercules with Steve Reeves and Reg Park, who were bodybuilders. He would judge, and admire Reg Park, promising himself that one day he would surpass him. Arnold was determined that he wouldn't be like othe...

Government of the people, for the people, and by the people essays

Government of the people, for the people, and by the people essays Government of the people, for the people, and by the people Commentary on Donald will find little sympathy in capital SCMP 9/2/2004 Even though the principle of One Country, Two Systems seems to have run well throughout these 6 years in Hong Kong, conflicts still exist when it comes to questions as fundamental as the political structure of the HKSAR. Ever since the July-1 Demonstration last year which over half a million of Hong Kong people took part in, the public and pro-democracy political parties have been voicing their desires of political reforms. What Beijing is putting on our way to the ultimate goal of one man, one vote for the election of the Chief Executive, ironical enough, is Basic Law - the Constitutional legal document that has stated clearly that the limited degree of democracy in the current political system would one day be broadened to full democracy. It is true that democracy seldom works out in Chinese societies. Taiwan is probably the only Chinese region in the world that practices full democracy, despite numerous flaws in the system that often make the headlines. Singapore is one of the freest economies around the globe, but has one of the strictest governments that even cares about how her people get dates. China is the least probable to practice democracy, or even any kind of system close to that, because of the Communist Party which is autocratic in nature and the generally low education level of the people. Corruption is another issue in the Mainland. Though the government claims the situation has improved significantly, once for a while we still hear news of high government officials being bribed and cases involving millions of dollars. As for Macau, the other SAR just an hour of ferry away from the HKSAR, her people dont seem to be very enthusiastic in introducing the idea of full democracy into their regime. That expl ains why her government doesnt...

Sustainable building Assignment Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 3750 words

Sustainable building - Assignment Example Center of discussion in this paper is sustainable building as the one that has higher energy efficiency, does not or less produces or less contribute in producing the green house gases emissions and the building that makes no burden to the ecology and environment. The construction of such a building is practically possible by making smaller changes to the way we live and construct our houses. Sustainable building utilized the sustainable materials that are renewable. Moreover a structure that utilizes less resources and utilizes the sustainable resources like solar, wind, geothermal, etc to provide the energy demand and provides an environmental security, is a sustainable building. However, other features like producing less waste, building life time, utilizes and produces non- toxic or less toxic materials, durability towards the harsh atmospheric affects, utilization of the natural resources, use of recyclable materials, use of renewable materials, use of durable materials and util ization of the technology makes the construction a green construction. For example, the utilization of the natural ventilation and geothermal cooling can be utilized in the building to make the building be in a desirable temperature, which certainly reduces the cooling cost and energy. Similarly, the utilization of the bigger glass windows makes the building enlighten in the daytime, which reduces the requirement of the artificial lightening in the building and reduces the carbon footprints of the building. In the same way, the utilization of the passive solar construction makes the building cooler in summer and warmer in the winter. The utilization of the onsite water treatment plants reduces the water footprints of the building. Some simple methods like making the faucets and showers heads to mix the air with the water, reduces the flow of water but the pressure remains the same thus reducing the water foot prints. The utilization of the most modern techniques like utilizing the s olar photovoltaic panels and utilizing the wind turbine to fulfill or reduce the energy requirement of the building can make the building more environments friendly and contribute much in reducing the carbon footprints. In the similar way solar water heating can be utilized to attain the warm water and also make the building warm during the winter season. Some other methods like growing plants on the rooftops of the building also reduce the cooling and heating energy requirement of the building. The vegetation on the rooftops blocks the direct sunlight and maintains the temperature of the building. This technique is utilized by several structures like the ‘California Academy of Science’, which is designed by ‘Renzo Piano’. If some or all of the sustainable method are utilized in a construction, the structure will be a sustainable building. LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) LEED is a certification that certifies a building to be a green or sustainable building or not. LEED certification verifies the green methods utilized in the building like the carbon emission of the building, quality of the resign, production of the waster, energy efficiency, energy dependency, energy management, waste management and social and environmental aspects of the building (USGBC 2011). LEED certification has different rating LEED System LEED rating makes the LEED system. A building is rated on the basis of points that the building gets after evaluating that which methods are employed in the construction of the building, how is the energy managed and utilized in the building and if the building presents a sustainable architecture or not. Points are given from a total of 100 points. If the building gets 40 to 49 points, the building is LEED certified. If it remains in-between 50 to 59, it gets the silver status. If the building is rated in between 59 to 80, it gets a gold status and it the building rates more than 80; it gets the platinum status (USGBC 2010).

The Vietnam War as History Essay Example for Free

The Vietnam War as History Essay You can kill ten of our men for every one we kill of yours. But even at those odds, you will lose and we will win. Such were the words of Ho Chi Minh referring to France and America in their wars in Vietnam. Ho Chi Minh was a Vietnamese revolutionary, who later became Prime Minister (1946–1955) and President (1946–1969) of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (North Vietnam). He led the North Vietnamese in the Vietnam War until his death. Six years later, the war ended with a North Vietnamese victory, and Vietnamese unification followed. The former capital of South Vietnam, Saigon, was renamed Ho Chi Minh City in his honor. The Vietnam War, or the 2nd Indochina Wars, was the longest military conflict in United States history. Furthermore, according to Richard M. Nixon (1985), â€Å"No event in American history is more misunderstood than the Vietnam War. It was misreported then, and it is misremembered now. † In Elizabeth Jane Errington’s book entitled, The Vietnam War as History, it probes the events in Southeast Asia in the thirty years after 1945 through the lenses of history. It is a compilation of the most current academic interpretations on the origins and effects of the Vietnam War. The contributors hypothesize and discuss diverse aspects of the Vietnam conflicts and clear away numerous fallacies and myths which still surround the war. They seek to understand how and why events in Southeast Asia came about as they did, and the impact they brought about both regionally and globally. The book sheds light on the lessons learned from the war. It is, of course, expected for people and nations to achieve knowledge of certain things from past experiences, especially when it is an agonizing one. In this case, however, there are at least two problems. First, there is no accord on what should be learned. The people are still divided in their beliefs as to the meaning and significance of the war—many years after it was considered over. Secondly, in attempting to comprehend something out of the recent past, Americans on both sides of the debate have badly misused or misinterpreted history itself. What indeed did we learn out of this conflict—this bloodshed and waste not only of resources but also civilian lives? To most people, there should not be â€Å"Vietnams† anymore. The United States government can do whatever they want to aid nearby countries or even those halfway-around the globe but cannot fight the war for them. An example is America’s aid in militarization and modernization (otherwise known as Americanization) of the South American drug-war. Most believe that when the government sends the guns, it will not take long before it sends the sons. Every time, the United States government tries to help a certain country it raises a specter of another Vietnam that will ensue. On the other hand, conservatives believe that Vietnam was a noble cause—and it could have been won. In subsequent conflicts involving Vietnam’s invasion of Cambodia, they believed that the fundamental error in the Vietnam conflict is not the fact that the United States government interfered; rather it was the failure of the latter to win the seemingly endless Vietnam guerilla war. Reading this book will give us a better understanding of the Vietnam conflict—what caused it to happen and its repercussions to other Asian countries and ultimately the whole world. This book also sheds some light on what has been learned from Vietnam, suggest why these les ¬sons lack validity, and then specify some ways we might learn more valuably from a recent, painful incident Reference Errington, E. J. (1990). The Vietnam War as History. New York. Praeger Publishers.

Winter Oak :: essays research papers

1.a) Our gut reaction to Winter Oak is that it had a lot of meaning, but was dull and tedious. Some words and phrases we used to relate our thoughts on the story are as follows: - Boring. - Monotonous. - No real conflict. - No feeling. - No real plot. - Didn’t invoke a strong reaction. - There was a definite lesson to be learned. 1.b) Yuri Nagibin used different devices to evoke various reactions in us, some of these were: The dialogue; it was concise yet boring but realistic for example, when Anna Vasilyevna was trying to teach the children their nouns. "A noun is a part of speech that denotes an object. In grammar an†¦" (Nagibin 59). Much of this dialogue is unnecessary; we the reader understands what goes on in the classroom, and two pages are not needed to establish nouns. Also, through dialogue Anna proved to be a snob. "’Good morning Anna Vasilyevna!’ Frolov raised his fur hat above his solid, close-cropped head. ‘what are you doing! Put it back on it’s freezing!’ Frolov probably wanted to pull his fur over his eyes himself†¦" (Nagibin 58). Anna feels as though she is high and mighty, and will not even acknowledge Frolov’s attempt of respect towards her. There were very powerful images present in the forest, such as the gigantic winter oak. The image of Savushkin standing in front of the Winter Oak, in utter awe of its splendo r and Anna Vasilyevna realizing the beauty of the winter oak appeals to the sight, because it is easy to picture in our minds. stood an oak as enormous and magnificent as a cathedral. The trees seemed to part respectfully to allow their older companion to spread out in full force. Its lower branches stretched out in a tent over the clearing. The snow had filled the deep crevices of the bark, and the trunk, which was so wide that it would have taken three men to get their arms around it, looked as if it were shot through with silver thread. It had hardly shed any of its foliage which had dried up during the fall; the oak was covered with snow-capped leaves to the very top. (Nagibin 65) We experienced an unexpected plot twist when the stern Anna Vasilyevna went into the forest, and understood Savushkin’s point of view about the winter oak, and why he was late everyday. "’My God!’ Anna Vasilyevna thought painfully.

Federal Government on Public School Curriculum Essay

Education is the one which build the molders of the society. It has been one of the major issues tackled during election campaigns and debates. Of all the issues in governance and in leading the nation, federal role in education receives less attention. The federal programs that exist in our country are lacking the ability to meet the standards that would qualify for a world quality yet government-funded education. In the educational system history, less help come from the federal government that worsens the scenario of schools specially those that are considered public. Aside from the role of the federal government in funding education particularly public schools, it is also important for the federal government to make sure that the curriculum be in its world quality standards of learning. The curriculum guides an educational system to be in its right path to reach the proper knowledge and learning. However, the Federal government was prohibited to control education under the General Education Provisions Act of April 18,1970 that was cited at 20USC(52)I §3921 of the Education Security Act of August 11, 1984. This prohibition is followed by the Controlled Substance Act that prohibits all professional competence in drug control. Another prohibition is the non-sponsorship of the federal government of any kind of testing that is provided for and enacted by law. Consequently, these prohibitions make the responsibility left behind with the States. Each States should have their own means of providing education to their respective youths. The congress had legislated an unconstitutional attitude that pertains to such education that prohibits good governance. This also limits the freedom of speech and freedom of the press. The exclusion of the federal government is not applicable at this time and thus, many (including those in the congress) suggest giving the proper education aid as soon as it should be. As an improvement, Former President George W. Bush passed â€Å"The No Child Left behind Act of 2001† which intends to increase the federal government’s support and involvement to education was legalized. The Federal government together with the US Department of Education should allow the idea of a national curriculum for public schools. In this way, the State and local educational offices will only maintain and enforce the standards without even evaluating the curriculum. The Department of Education upon their approval of national curriculum should always have their assessment at each half of the year to make sure that the standards for curriculum are well enforced. Correlation Between Motivation And Other Behavioral Processes

One can define motivation in terms that make a clear distinction between other concepts or processes, and it is important not to simply subsume motivation into other constructs such as emotion. Nevertheless, it also is useful to consider the relation between motivation and other behavioral processes. The neural representation of behavioral functions is highly complex, and it is problematic to try and neatly place core psychological functions into distinct neural systems that do not overlap (Salamone 2010; Salamone et al., 2007). Thus, when discussing motivation it is important to consider the relation between motivational processes and other important processes such as emotion and reinforcement, because in several ways, motivational†¦show more content†¦The modern study of instrumental conditioning, and thus the conceptualization of reinforcement, was established by the seminal work of Thorndike and Skinner. Thorndike (1911) formulated the Law of Effect to describe the proc esses involved in instrumental conditioning. Several years later, Skinner (1938) composed what he termed â€Å"The Empirical Law of Effect†, which focused on the relation between response output and the stimulus events that followed these responses. As described by Skinner, positive reinforcement occurs when a response is followed by a stimulus, and response probability increases. The stimulus that leads to such an outcome is known as a positive reinforcer. Clearly there is an associative learning component to the reinforcement process. There is a complex associative structure involving S-S and S-R associations (Colwill Rescorla 1986), with the core being the action-outcome association based upon the contingency between the response and the reinforcer. As described by Timberlake Allison (1974) and Allison (1993), for instrumental learning to occur, an organism must learn â€Å"what leads to what†. Nevertheless, there also is a key motivational component to instrum ental behavior (Dickenson Balleine 1994; Salamone Correa 2002). Cofer (1972) stated that motivation provides the conditions for reinforcing behavior or weakening it. As stated by Salamone Correa (2002) â€Å"The reinforcer can be described as a goal, aShow MoreRelatedPsychology1731 Words   |  7 Pagess concern for the anatomy of the mind and led to greater concern over the functions of the mind, and later to behaviorism.
