In Medieval Time, knighthood and chivalry were very important. In their society, knights played a major role. Knights made sure that the towns were protected, and made sure everyone stayed safe including the King. Knights also had a system to follow which contained religious, moral, and social code-this system was named Chivalry. If you were considered as a knight, you had to follow this system at all times. Some acts that were included in chivalry was loyalty, honor, courage, and courtesy. Many stories were written around this time reflecting how their society was like. Stories like, â€Å"The Green Knight† and â€Å"Le Morte DArthur†, both show acts of knighthood and chivalry throughout the two stories; readers are able to notify different acts†¦show more content†¦It defined if you were a true knight towards your King. â€Å"What is another important chivalry act that knights should follow?† Another important chivalry act is Honor. Knights are supposed to honor each other and their King, but knights weren’t the only people who followed this act. Average townspeople honored the King and knights in their town as well. The story, Le Morte D’Arthur, described how everyone honored King Arthur’s grave when he died. â€Å" â€Å"Father, King Arthur lies buried in this tomb.† Sir Bedivere fainted when he had spoken, and when he came to he begged the Archbishop to allow him to remain at the hermitage and end his days in fasting and prayer.† There were times when the King would honor his men for being apart of his castle, and help to fight with him through battles. In â€Å"Le Morte D’Arthur† when King Arthur and his men went to battle, he saw most of his men either dead or wounded severely. This broke his heart and made the King mourn uncontrollably f or the men he had lost. In â€Å"The Green†, Sir Gawain was the only knight to play the game with the Green Knight for the King. â€Å"My life would be least missed if we let out the truth. Only as you are my uncle house I any honor, for accepting your blood, I bear in my bloody slight virtue.† (pg 4, The Green Knight). Sir Gawain was stating that he honored his King in abundance, and that is why he stood up for the King against the Green Knight.
